The
longer-term aim of Lerwick Port Authority is set out in its
Mission Statement which is detailed below:-
"The
Authority aims to run an efficient, cost-effective port operation
involving the management, maintenance and regulation of its
activities and shipping to the port for the benefit of the
Shetland community and businesses for the foreseeable future.
In so doing it will strive to invest in new facilities and
to maximise the quality and value for money of its services
in order to maintain existing and attract new business to
the port. It will diversify its involvement in port related
facilities where this supports and strengthens its core harbour
activity."
Lerwick
Port Authority is also committed to developing its Quality
Management System and is ISO9001 registered. The Authority
is committed to the concept of quality management and carries
out regular internal audits in order to measure compliance
against various performance standards and indicators set.
The
Authority continually strives to improve the quality, reliability
and safety of its services in order to ensure that they meet
customers requirements and expectations. In doing so, it is
imperative that the Authority establishes and maintains close
working relationships with its suppliers and customers.
The
Authority welcomes any feedback for its customers and has
developed a short questionnaire to allow customers to provide
any comments/feedback regarding the standard of service they
receive. The questionnaire is detailed below and should only
take a couple of minutes to complete.
