Friends and colleagues gathered recently at the Port Operations Centre to mark the retirement of Harbour Pilot Arthur Christie from Lerwick Port Authority.

During his 30 years with the Port, Mr Christie completed over 9,000 acts of Pilotage and his role also included Assistant Harbourmaster’s duties.
Commenting on Mr Christie’s service, Port Chief Executive, Sandra Laurenson, said “Arthur has been a very dedicated and loyal member of staff and we wish him all the very best for a long and happy retirement”.
