Despite the cool weather, Lerwick Harbour is ready to welcome its first spring visitors ahead of a busy summer season.

The tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl is always a welcome visitor and she is due at 3pm today (12 April) for an overnight stay.

On Monday 16 April, the first cruise ship of the year arrives. The small Arion will call at Victoria Pier for a morning visit on her way from Ullapool to Norway. On Tuesday 17 April, the Norwegian Gann will take up the Victoria Pier berth and the following day the Statsraad Lehmkuhl returns again to grace the Town Centre.

April will be complete with another Statsraad Lehmkuhl overnight call on 25 April. May starts with a visit from the familiar ferry Norrona on a cruise call on 9 May. The main cruise season kicks off on 20 May with a schedule of vessels through until late September.

Here's hoping for a fine summer!
