Boatcrew Relief Pool

Temporary personnel are required with relevant experience for occasional work on the Authority’s vessels.

Candidates need to hold, as a minimum, a commercially endorsed RYA/MCA Powerboat Certificate – Level 2, or a Boatmaster’s Licence, or equivalent with the suite of standard STCW safety courses and reside within 15 minutes of Lerwick Harbour.

Candidates will be required to undertake desk duties, mooring of vessels and other general duties.

Experience in skipping vessels and/or a mechanical engineering background would also be advantageous.

Candidates must be physically fit and have a standard MCA Medical Examination for Seafarers (ENG1 or ML5).

The post is on a day rate basis for providing cover for 18 day periods consisting of night and day work based on a 28 day rota system.
