Ronnie Gair appointed as Chairman.
At Lerwick Port Authority’s Annual General Meeting, Ronnie Gair has been appointed as Chairman of the Authority. John Henderson has been appointed as Deputy Chairman. These appointments are made annually.
Ronnie takes over as Chairman from Brian Anderson who has retired as a Board Member of the Authority after serving for 23 years.
Ronnie said he is looking forward to the challenge of continuing the work of the Authority that has been ably led by Brian Anderson, noting there is plenty to look forward to with a significant decommissioning project soon to arrive at the port and a new fishmarket to be built.
Earlier this month, three Board Members were appointed to the board of the Authority following recruitment of applicants from the business sector.
Ronnie Gair and John Henderson have each been re-appointed to the board and the new Board Member joining the Authority is Steven Hutton. Each will serve a three year term.
