Congratulations from all at Lerwick Port Authority to Ryan Leith, a Port Controller, whose stunning photograph of a cruise ship entering the harbour has been commended in a national competition.

The recognition, for a shot showing MSC Preziosa arriving on a foggy morning, came in the Urban Life section of the 2020 Landscape Photographer of the Year.

A delighted Ryan, an enthusiastic harbour and nature photographer, explained that he tracked the vessel's progress on port radar - and then took the photograph through the control room window.

It is included with other winning entries in an awards book and in an exhibition opening in November at London Bridge Station in the capital before going on tour next year, including Glasgow.
