The challenging and spectacular Bergen-Shetland Race occurs annually in midsummer.
Leg 1 of the race is 194 nautical miles across the North Sea from Bergen to Lerwick and Leg 2 is the return crossing. This popular and enduring event is supported by a volunteer team at Lerwick and includes a rally for cruising boats.
Norwegian Offshore and Cruising Club plans to include the Shetland Race in their rally/cruising towards Scotland, which may attract new participants from Oslo.
