The announcement that the decommissioning of the Buchan Alpha production facility is to be undertaken by Veolia and its partner, Peterson, at Lerwick is welcomed by Lerwick Port Authority.
Repsol Sinopec has awared a contract for Buchan Alpha to be decommissioned at Lerwick.
Sandra Laurenson, the Authority’s Chief Executive, commented: “The success of Veolia in being awarded this project to be carried out at Lerwick is great news for the port and Shetland. It underlines our considerable experience in decommissioning and the deep-water port’s expanded capacity and capabilities in handling such projects, with both Greenhead and Dales Voe bases to be involved.
