The earliest start yet to a cruise season at Lerwick Harbour has been foiled by North Sea weather, with forecasts forcing operator, Viking Cruises, to cancel a maiden visit by Viking Venus on Thursday 3 February to the Shetland port.
The vessel is scheduled on a 12-day ‘In Search of Northern Lights’ cruise, departing Tilbury, England, for Norway’s far north regions.
The next scheduled cruise call to Lerwick is also by Viking Venus, on Monday 7 February, one of 19 more booked by Viking this year.
