Costa Pacifica has sailed into the record books at Lerwick, with the 114,500 gross tonnes vessel becoming the largest cruise ship yet to visit the Shetland port, just four days after the 113,651 gross tonnes Crown Princess broke the previous record.

Both also set new highs for the most passengers on a single vessel at Lerwick – Crown Princess with 2,997, then Costa Pacifica, with 3,007 mainly German passengers on board, en route from Kiel, Germany, to Reykjavik, Iceland.
Lerwick is set for a record cruise season, with 53 vessels scheduled to visit this year.
