The attractions and advantages of including Lerwick Harbour and Shetland in cruise itineraries are being promoted to the international market this week.

Lerwick Port Authority is participating again on the Cruise Scotland stand 1812 at SeatradeCruise Global, in Miami Beach, Florida, the sector’s largest event with 10,000-plus expected to attend, including more than 1,800 cruise line executives and over 600 exhibitors. The event runs from 8-11 April.

The Port Authority is represented by Cruise & Marketing Manager, Melanie Henderson, who said: “Exhibitions, with their opportunities to network and increase awareness of the harbourand Shetland, are an important component in our marketing programme and have already contributed to record growth in cruise activity at Lerwick and visitors to the islands.”

Lerwick’s 2024 season is underway and promises to be the busiest yet, with 148 vessels and around 130,000 passengers expected by mid-November.
