A visit to Shetland by HRH The Princess Royal later this month, during the return of The Tall Ships Races, will include engagements with vessels in the fleet to meet crew members and young sail trainees.

Arriving on Thursday 27 July, Her Royal Highness will attend the Captains’ dinner that evening, to meet the captains of all 38 vessels in the fleet. Invited guests involved in hosting this spectacular community event will also be present.

Port Authority Chair, John Henderson, said: “The Races were set to be the highlight of the harbour’s – and Shetland’s – year and now will be a uniquely special occasion for all involved, including crews, organisers and thousands of visitors. It will be an honour for the Authority to host the Races for a third time and to be part of another Royal occasion."

The Tall Ships fleet will be in the port from 26-29 July.
