Pelagic sculpture unveiled

8th October, 2016

'Da Lightsome Buoy', a large cast bronze sculpture, was unveiled at Lerwick Harbour last Saturday [8 October].

The art installation was commissioned by a local partnership of LHD, Lerwick Port Authority, Shetland Catch and Shetland Fish Producers' Organisation.

Celebrating Shetland's pelagic fishing industry, the piece is a reminder to the hardworking past, also conveying the continuity of the pelagic industry and its importance to Shetland's economy.
