General Duties Operative
This is an opportunity to join Britain's Top Port.
A vacancy has arisen for an operative to join our shore staff team to undertake general duties associated with the operation of the port and maintenance of harbour piers, plant and buildings.
This diverse position also requires the postholder to join a shift rota for marine-related duties including mooring, letting go and watering vessels and operating the linkspan ramps and passenger walkway for ro/ro operations. An aptitude for marine operations is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
Applicants possessing a trade related certificate and appropriate experience in operating small plant and small goods vehicles would be advantageous but not essential. Applicants should reside within 15 minutes of Lerwick Harbour.
The post is on a fixed salary basis on a 9 weeGk rota system.
Applicants must be capable of passing a pre-employment medical. A full, clean Driving Licence is essential.
